Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
The tall oak tree stood proudly in the middle of the meadow. Its limps stretched it out across the sky, reaching out toward the sun, which danced upon the tree’s leaves. A soft breeze rustled the leaves, some whom broke free of their limps and slowly floated to the ground. A figure was sprawled out within the oak tree’s shade, which covered the ground. From a far glance the female wolf looked like a white blur among the greens and brown that were vivid in the meadow. At a closer glance the female’s fur, which were whiter then December. She was lying down with her paws neatly crossed stretched out before her. Her long fluffy fur was curled up tightly against her elegant body. The female wolf was unlike any mortal that wandered the earth – her beauty surpassed even the prettiest mortal wolf. She was like an illusion that one would see in a dream, but she was quite real.
The female shifted her weight as her large blue eyes flickered across the deserted meadow. She was often surrounded by wolves that it was nice to be able to have a few moments rest by herself without interruptions. The female was obvious no regular wolf, in fact she was often called Mother Earth. It was not surprising since she was not only a striking Goddess, but the one who created earth and every creature that lurked within it’s body. Her name was Amaterasu, or Lady Amaterasu to most. She yawned as she gently laid her head upon her paws and took a deep breath. Her ears twitched as she heard a couple of birds up above her chirping away. A small smile tore across her lips as she gently lifted her head and looked at them. She then began to sing softly right along with them.
With the Mornings Sunrise We see in your Eyes The Hi-Machi.. Waiting for the Sun So we may bow to Thee
Sacred Mirror of the Moon Reflects thy Glory, thy Spirit Thy Unity
Great Shining Heaven Japans Pride ... Your Warmth, Love and Compassion Brings Us ever to Your Side
Ancesstress to the Line of Kings Keeper to the Keys of Life From you descend all Kami The Spirits who walk in the Light
Hail to thee Great Mother Be Great Dancer of the Skys
Hail and Blessing Dear Amaterasu May We Ever see your Eyes Her voice was smoothing and it’s rhythmic tone echoed across the meadow with its beauty. Amaterasu smiled softly as she took a deep breath. The earth was such a beautiful place. She was not the only Goddess or God that ventured to the earth, but she was probably the one that spent most time upon it. It broke her heart when anything bad happens to her children. She was mother earth so everyone was her children. Lady Amaterasu sucked in her breath as she thought about one of her sons, several thousands of years ago Amaterasu gave birth to a son, whom she got rid of after a month. It wasn’t because she didn’t love him, Amaterasu loved all her children, but it was because he reminder her so much of him. It reminder her of that forbidden moment in her life, he was a constant reminder of her feelings, and Amaterasu could no longer take it. She felt guilty ever since she had to leave her darling son upon earth. Amaterasu shook her delicate head and pushed the dreaded memories away from her mind. Today was supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing day, she shouldn’t be bothering herself with such negative emotions. She took a deep breath and smiled softly as she laid her head back down, but she did not closer he eyes, her eyes were wide as she took in her surroundings.

Beauty and tranquility; this place reeked of it. Towering oaks, brightly colored maples and weeping willows littered the almost perfect green grass, which was fading fast due to the changing seasons. The sun shown brightly down upon the land down below, almost spotlighting certain areas to make the meadow seem even more perfect than it already was. The different hues of green, red, orange and yellow tainted the meadow, making it seem more like ones "happy spot" instead of a place one might fear and dread. The sound of birds chirping and small critters frolicking throughout the fallen leaves was poisonous; not to one who was all for good, but for one that was for evil and only evil.
"This place is disgusting," came the deep voice that was able to send chills down another's spine. "with its rays of sunshine delight," the voice continued as an ominous sense of evil and darkness made its way into the Luminita pack territory. The voice belonged to a truly dreadful looking wolf, one who towered over those stood before him. He was the devil himself and went by many different names, though his preferred one was Diablos. His fur was the darkest of crimson, covering his massive body with short, bristly hairs. Leathery bat-like wings with a span of over fifteen feet stretched from his broad back, moving freely as if they had their own mind. The flesh from his two right legs were almost completely gone, revealing the bleached bones that were once hidden safely within. His ribcage protruded from his flesh grotesquely, disturbing those who were sometimes graced with his presence. His sockets were empty, having black orbs of light that bled a crimson river continuously instead of having eyes. To some, he didn't appear as fearsome as one might think, but to others, mainly the weak, that was another story.
In one swift movement he was nearly a quarter of the way across the meadow, though he had a noticeable limp. He was completely oblivious of the fact someone else was there, someone he used to know quite well. But at that point, it didn't matter. He was focused more on the wretchedness of this particular territory to notice Amaterasu, and even if he did, he could care less. Well, that was probably a lie, but it was irrelevant at this time. "Hn," he growled, letting his black orbs of light take in every ounce of the surrounding area. "If only..." He let his sentence die as another growl rumbled deep within his chest. He wanted so badly to unleash chaos and destruction, but he had to keep the balance of good and evil. He despised that rule with a great passion, but when he was in his own realm, it was another story. Chaos and destruction, pain and suffering. That was how he wanted the world to be.
"If only..."

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
Amaterasu raised her head when a chill ran down her spine. Suddenly the world had grown cold, as if the happiness had been sucked up into a dark void. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she looked upon the land, until they landed on Diablos. Amaterasu blinked a few times. She was unsure if he noticed if she was here or not, and even if he did, he probably would have not even cared. A frown tugged at the edges of her maw. All she wanted was a day of peacefulness and joy, and he had to come and ruin it. Anyone else she could have dealt with. Well, she wasn’t going to loser her cool. She pushed herself up from the ground and gracefully made her way over to him, her head held with pride and her tail arched across her back. “Diablos, what a…pleasant surprise.” Amaterasu said with a smoothing couple a small fake smile pressed across her maw. “What brings you to Earth? As far as I knew, you didn’t like mortals. Or have you had a change of heart?” Her voice kept its charming appeal, but there was a hit of sarcasm that lingered in her words as she tilted her head as she watched him. The two of them had a complicated relationship, if you can actually call it that. The two of them were never really friendly toward each other, after all Diablos was the devil who ruled the underworld and Amaterasu ruled heaven and was the creator of the earth and her creatures, but they didn’t go after each other’s neck every time they met. However sometimes he could get on her nerves.

If there was one thing that was capable of sending a shudder down Diablos' spine, it was that voice; that voice that belonged to her. Hesitantly, and almost reluctantly, he turned his head to meet his gaze, though he held no sign of friendliness in his expression, not even one that was fake. "Amaterasu," he said dully, not quite meeting her eyes, though it was hard to tell he was avoiding looking directly at her. "Does it matter why I'm here?" he asked as the corner of his maw twitched in a sneer. "Am I not allowed to venture across these lands anymore?" His brow arched slightly as he placed his gaze directly on her. A smirk, one that was almost cocky, then spread across his maw. "I'm here because my adoring fans are becoming a nuisance. Always wanting to this for me, always wanting to do that. As much as I may seem to enjoy it, it gets rather annoying."
A humorless laugh emitted from his throat as he stepped away from where she stood, noticeably limping once again. He despised the Lich wolves that took his flesh. They made him look weak, but they had been taken care of. "And do I really like anyone, or anything?" he spoke up, avoiding her gaze altogether now. That was a lie, possibly still a lie, but he could deny it all he wanted. A brief glimpse of the past drifted across his vision, but he blinked it away. He wasn't going to think about something like that at a time like this.

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
Amaterasu shook her head slowly as she watched him. If it was one thing that Amaterasu never did, was loser her posture. She could be hurt, and she still would hold herself gracefully. Diablos was much larger then her, but Amaterasu would not let his size imitate her, or anyone’s size. “No, you may walk upon these lands as much as you please.” She said as she turned and looked away from him for a few moments, before she turned her gaze back upon him, noticing that he refused to look at her, however she did not mind. “I see,” she said with a swift flicker of her tail, “I just hope that whatever mess you make you clean it up, Diablos.” Amaterasu told him swiftly. Amaterasu knew what would come in the future, however she mostly blocked it from her knowing with her seals, because she found it a bothersome. Before, if she knew what would happen then, would she have tried to change it? She wasn’t sure, and she quickly shoved the thought away. “Do you like anyone or anything?” She repeated the question; her voice was soft and not very audible. “I very highly doubt that, in fact I bet you’ve never cared about anyone or anything then yourself, am I right?” She asked him with vaguely narrowed eyes.

An irritable buzzing sound nearing the right side of Diablos' face caused him to lose his train of thought as he focused on the culprit of the noise - a rather fat honey bee. With a muttered 'Hn', he narrowed his eyeless sockets and sent a small wave of flames towards the bee, which burnt to a crisp immediately. It's ashes dropped down to the ground soundlessly and Diablos brushed the rest of it away. "There," he said as he turned his expressionless gaze back to Amaterasu. "I cleaned up my mess." He smiled heartlessly for a moment before his expression went back to its original state. "As for me not caring about anyone or anything, well... I don't know. There was this one time..." His voice was low, nothing at all like how it normally was, and he looked quite serious for once in his life. There was no sign of sarcasm or amusement on his dark face.
With his gaze trained on hers, he tossed his head back and roared with laughter. "You're wrong. I don't even care about myself, really," he said a moment later after he regained control with himself. He breathed in deeply and grinned meaninglessly, bringing his gaze up to the horribly bright sky above. "I mean, there are times when I care about myself, but really... why should I waste my time on that? I've got more important things to do, you know what I'm saying?" he asked, looking down at her with a 'pleasant' smile. [/blockquote]

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
Amaterasu frowned when he saw killed the bumblebee; she knew that everything had a time to die. However, she did believe that was unnecessary. “That’s not quite what I meant.” She told him with a shake of her head, making a piece of fur fall into her eyes. His words sent a chill down her spine. Amaterasu and Diablos had a somewhat silent agreement about what had happened between them, this was one of the first times that he even hinted about what had happened between them all those years ago. Amaterasu froze for a moment taking his words in, before she turned and looked away. “Is that so? Well it was a long time ago…” her voice faded away into silence.
“That’s pretty sad, not caring for yourself.” Amaterasu said as she forced herself to turn and look at him, her voice returned to its normal tone. “So, you hardly care for yourself? That is pretty sad, Diablos. Even for you. There most be something or someone whom you care about, now.” Amaterasu said with a tilt of her head as she watched him. Amaterasu cared for everything and everyone, even those wolves who dare cause damage upon her precious earth that she worked so hard to make. There had to be at least one thing that Diablos cared about, but she doubted it. Even if he did, would she admit it to her? Why would he?

With an exaggerated sigh, Diablos rolled his eyes, cursing quietly under his breath. "Oh well, it doesn't matter anyway," he replied, lifting his shoulder in a shrug. He didn't exactly feel better about himself for killing a little bee, but did he ever really feel superior when he killed another? It was something that made him think, and that was something he didn't do as often as he should have. "How is it sad?" he asked, surfacing from his thoughts. "Why should anyone really care about themselves?" He looked at her expectantly as if she had the answer, but he doubted she did. Then again, what did he know?
"There is no one that I care about," he said, snorting quietly. "Not everyone is like you, you know. All bubbly and cheerful, loving everything and everyone." The corner of his maw twitched in a sneer, but he refrained from letting it cross completely. "You gotta have a good dose of chaos and destruction to even it all out. If you didn't, the world would be a pretty dull place to be if you ask me. Everyone would be the same. Sure, they might not look the same, but they would all think in the same way because they would all be similar. Where's the fun in that?" It may have seemed like he was avoiding her question, but truthfully, he had forgotten about it. When voicing his opinions, he normally forgot about most things. [/blockquote]

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
“Because everyone should care about themselves to some degree, and yes that means you too.” Amaterasu told him. She couldn’t, yet she could, believe what he was saying. She had known those who only thought about themselves and then she saw others who thought of others before themselves, but never one who actually didn’t care really about anything. “At least to a certain degree.” She quickly pointed out.
Perhaps another would be offended at his words. However, his words were true. Amaterasu could not deny that. “I’m not that bad.” She mumbled under her breath. “And yes maybe you are right, but I didn’t plan this all you know.” Amaterasu took a few steps away as she looked around. “Then again, you of everyone would not understand. You never did.” She spoke as she turned her head back around and looked at him. “If there was no evil, doesn’t mean that everything would be boring.” She told him. As her voice went off into silence. She shut her mind off into the future. Did she want evil to go away? Yes. She wanted those to be good. But she would not stop it. She could, but she wasn’t going to…she looked at Diablos, and it had nothing to do with him, or so she believed.

"You are not answering my question," Diablos growled deeply, becoming only slightly annoyed. "Why should we care about ourselves in the first place?" The expectant gaze returned as he stared at her in anticipation; he had all the time in the world. His gaze soon changed to something unrecognizable when he remembered what she had said before. "What are you talking about?" he asked rudely, narrowing his orb-made eyes. "What was a long time ago?" Were they talking about two different things? Possibly, but if it was what he thought it was, that was in the past and the past didn't need to be brought up once again. He decided not to press on any further as he muttered curses silently under his breath.
"I'm sure you didn't," he drawled, snorting in humorless laughter. "And how would you know I wouldn't understand it? Maybe you're the one who doesn't understand it, Amaterasu. Maybe you're so caught up in your little dream world you don't see the reality of it all. If this world was full of nothing but well being and those who were all for good, everyone would be the same. They would have the same personality. They would have the same likes and dislikes, if even those. They would do the same thing day in and day out. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year." Diablos hadn't realized he had moved closer to her, but he had; he was only inches away. "But you don't care because you really just want a perfect world. Isn't that right?" [/blockquote]

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
“I did answer your question. Because everyone is important in some way, even if they can’t see it. You should respect yourself and care about yourself. If you don’t, then you can’t care for anyone or anything else.” She took a sharp breath as she turned and looked away from him for a moment. His other words floated into her ears, and it took her a few moments to realize what his question meant. She felt her body grow cold as she turned and looked at him. “I think you know what I mean, Diablos.” She whispered in a soft voice, as she tried not to think about it. It was such a long time ago.
Amaterasu narrowed her eyes as she looked directly at Diablos. Rarely had she gotten mad, but his words pushed her over the edge. "How dare he speak to her like that. Would I rather that everyone lived a happy life, rather then scurry around for scrapes of food and beat each other up? Then yes! Is having balance between evil and good in the world important? Yes, it probably is!” Amaterasu breathed deeply as she glared at him. “Not everyone who is good is the same, Diablos. Because that is just saying everyone who is evil is the same. No. That is a lie.” She finally tore her gaze away from him and took a deep breath. She wouldn’t give him the pleasure to see her cry.

Having listened to her words and seeing that she was growing angry, a pleased smile slipped across Diablos' maw. "Oh, look at that. You seem to be a little upset now," he said smugly, the smile growing even wider to reveal his crimson stained fangs. Realizing he was a little too close for comfort, he backed off until he was a few yards away, making sure to steer clear of getting closer again. "I believe my work here is done," he spoke a moment later, nodding once as he let his gaze roam across the meadow. "There's really nothing here that is worth my time." He paused and his gaze shot back to hers. "No offense.. or maybe I want to offend you. You know what? I really don't care either way." He breathed in deeply, a disgusted look now crossing into his expression. "How repulsive," he muttered darkly, speaking of the many different scents that were in the air - mainly 'good'. "I wouldn't be able to stand this if I was damned to live on Earth. I think I'd rather kill myself." A visible shudder went down his spine as he thought about the realm of the living. If he couldn't stand being here for just an hour or two, he'd hate to see what would happen if he were here twenty four seven. It wasn't a pleasant image in his mind. [/blockquote]

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
She was ashamed of herself. She had broke down in front of Amaterasu. The way she acted probably would be considered quite strong to other females – but not to her. Amaterasu grinded her teeth together when she watched him take a few yards back, as though she was some disease. He seemed to actually enjoy that she had become upset. “That’s right, Diablos. That’s all you came here for. To offend me, well nice job, it worked.” She turned and looked away from him.
His words floated in her ears, but she pretended not to notice. “Diablo..there’s…um…nothing.” her words caught in her throat. Now was not the time. It had been so long, and she didn’t feel like discussing the past with him, it was obvious he no long cared. After all he was immune to feelings. She snorted as she took a deep breath trying to let positive feelings float into her body, but it did not work.

Although he felt rather pleased just a moment ago, the feeling had been swept away and replaced with nothing. He felt a lot of that these days - nothing; not even anger, really. Perhaps there was an upset with the balance. Was there too much 'good'? No, that couldn't be possible. He would be considerably angry if that was the problem. Maybe there was too much evil? Ha. As if. "Well, I'm not going to dwell around here any longer. The... happiness is getting to me. I don't want to become a clone like the rest of you here. Almost the rest of you. What am I saying?" He snorted loudly and turned to leave, but was stopped as Amaterasu spoke again. 'Oh, what is it now?' he thought silently, letting a low growl rumble in his chest.
"What?" he asked irritably, throwing a glare over his shoulder. "There's what? Something on my face? Something abnormal about me? What is it?" He had the faintest idea of what she wanted to say by listening to the tone of her voice, but he ignored it. "If there was nothing, why would you say something? There's obviously something?" But if he wanted to ignore it, why was he questioning her further? "Are you afraid it's going to offend me?" he asked, almost laughing out loud. "I can tell you now it won't. I've heard it all, seen it all, done it all.. well, almost. But that doesn't really matter to much right now. So," he spoke, letting his backside fall to the ground, "what is it?"

Amaterasu {Breaking the Silence}
“Like us? A clone like the rest of us?” Amaterasu said with a shake of her head. He spoke as though they were a disease that one would catch if they stuck around too long. “Yeah sure, like your kind is fun to be around.” She said with a sour tone and a roll of her eyes. Amaterasu kept her gaze away from him as she sat down upon the ground and wrapped her tail around her thin frame. She was not going to lose her cool; she was going to remain calm. “I think you forget, Diablos. Although we are completely different, we are also the same.”
“Nothing.” She told him with a nod of her head, not daring to look at him. “Sometimes it is nothing. I was just going to say that your so ignorant.” It was a lie, but she kept her voice sturdy and she even looked at him with a straight face. He had heard it all? Well, her piece of news would be shocking, but he was not ready to hear. He probably wouldn’t even care. So should she tell him? He didn’t deserve to know.
